CEREDIGION has again recorded no new cases of coronavirus today (Sunday), meaning none have been reported in the county this weekend, and only five this week.

In Public Health Wales figures announced daily at 12pm, Ceredigion had no new cases, Gwynedd had 13, Powys 7, Carmarthenshire 11 and Pembrokeshire 2.

The situation continues to improve across Wales, with 217 new cases in Wales today, and 10 deaths. The total deaths linked to Covid by PHW throughout the pandemic stands at 5,452.

Dr Robin Howe, incident director for the Covid response at Public Health Wales, said: “Welsh Government has announced a phased approach to easing lockdown, starting with moving to a stay local requirement.

“Four people from two households can now meet outdoors and outdoor sports facilities can open.

“Tomorrow, Monday 15 March, all primary school pupils and students in years 11 and 13 will return to school, and schools also have the flexibility to bring back Years 10 and 12.

“In addition, hairdressers and barbers can open from Monday for haircuts by appointment only."
