Daily figures released this afternoon by Public Health Wales show that 168 tests were conducted in Gwynedd over the past day and one returned a positive result, taking the total in the county since the start of the pandemic to 586.
Powys conducted 54 Covid-19 tests in the past 24 hours, with one being positive, taking that county’s total to 329.
In Ceredigion, 34 tests were conducted with no positive results. 94 were conducted in Carmarthenshire and 45 in Pembrokeshire.
In total, there have been 63 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ceredigion from 3,057 tests.
Carmarthenshire has had 804 positive results from 12,300 tests and Pembrokeshire has had 294 positive results from 6,680 tests.
Of the 1,546 suspected deaths from Covid-19 in Wales, 67 have been in the Hywel Dda region that is Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
374 have been recorded in the Betsi Cadwaladr area of North Wales and 15 in Powys.
Explaining the data compiled by Public Health Wales, Dr Giri Shankar, incident director for the Covid-19 outbreak response at Public Health Wales, said: “Public Health Wales’ user-friendly data dashboard takes information from a range of different sources. The total number of positive cases now includes those reported from non-NHS Wales laboratories, which are subject to ongoing de-duplication, refinement and reconciliation. This may result in fluctuation of the total positive cases as this process takes place.
“It should be noted that the cases from non-NHS Wales laboratories are not new cases, and have been on the dashboard for a number of weeks.
"They have previously been reported on a separate tab, but are now incorporated into the totals for the local authority area and health board area in which the patient resides, to give a complete picture for Wales."
