Leisure centres in Aberystwyth, Cardigan and Lampeter will reopen in the autumn, the council has announced.
Ceredigion County Council says it is aiming towards the reopening of its facilities at Cardigan Leisure Centre, Lampeter Swimming Pool and Plascrug Leisure Centre in the autumn.
A council spokesperson said: “We recognise the difficulties we have faced with respect to the leisure and pool closures across the county, and have been met with unforeseen challenges at both Plascrug and Lampeter swimming pools.
“Both Lampeter and Plascrug pools have had new air handling units installed which will ensure that both pools will be able to operate safely. Further work is to be undertaken at Plascrug Leisure Centre, specifically to the squash courts which are being replastered and the sports hall where a new floor will be laid.
“The decommissioning work will also start on Cardigan Leisure Centre, when the facility has officially been returned from Hywel Dda University Health Board following its use as a mass vaccination centre.
The works identified are essential in ensuring that the facilities can reopen safely for both customers and staff. The investment by the council to ensure the facilities reopen demonstrates the importance that we place on our residents physical wellbeing.
"We also believe that the works will contribute to an improved customer experience when visiting our facilities in the future.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding during this difficult time."
