A NURSE has admitted misconduct charges in connection with a string of incidents at a Porthmadog care home.

Marta Kuzniarska, who worked as a nurse at Madog Nursing Home administered four times the amount of oxycodone hydrochloride required to a patient between 23 September and 27 September 2014.

She gave 100mg, but 20-25mg was prescribed.

She also failed to record the dosage during the same period on the patient’s MAR chart.

Between 25 September and 27 September 2014, the nurse also mistakenly recorded that she had withdrawn 10ml of oxycodone hydrochloride for the same patient and incorrectly dated an entry for the medication in the controlled drug book.

Miss Kuzniarska, who has now returned to Poland, also left the Porthmadog nursing home with no qualified nursing staff for 40 minutes on 28 September, 2014.

A Nursing and Midwifery Council meeting held on 10 to 12 May concluded that Miss Kuzniarska’s actions merited her receiving a condition of practice order for 12 months and interim conditions of practice order for 18 months.
