A Bronglais Hospital doctor who raised money for a defibrillator in Glandyfi is close to reaching the total needed to install another one nearby.
Dr Nicola Allen launched the appeal to raise money for the defibrillator in March this year, but after hitting that target quickly and getting the equipment in place, she set her sights on getting a second defibrillator, which she hopes could be located at Dovey Junction station.
She is now just over £500 away from having the necessary funding for the second defibrillator and said she hoped generous members of the public would help to get that equipment in place.
She said: “I am so grateful to everyone who has supported the Glandyfi defibrillator project and to those who have donated money towards this.
“The Glandyfi defibrillator from Welsh Hearts was put up in June, just along the layby near the post box and has been registered with the Welsh Ambulance Service as well.
“Because of the generous amount of donations, we surpassed our initial target and I decided to aim for a second defibrillator at Dovey Junction station, a busy but very rural station.”
