CFfI Bro Ddyfi’s Christmas Tractor Run raised more than £1,000 for the Bronglais Chemo Appeal.

More than 30 tractors took part in the run, which was followed by an evening of entertainment for the whole family.

Bronglais Hospital oncologist Dr Elin Jones waved off the tractors and judged the competitions for best-dressed tractor and best-dressed driver.

YFC treasurer Elin Haf Williams said: “It was the first time we had organised a tractor run and despite the awful weather we were able to go ahead. Thankfully, the rain came to clear the icy surfaces.

“There was a really good turnout for the tractor run and the family evening and we want to thank everyone who was involved and all those who attended.

“We were raising money for the Bronglais Chemo Appeal, the DPJ Foundation and our club, and are pleased that we raised over £3,000, which will be split between the three.

“The appeal is important to communities like ours in rural mid Wales. We wanted to help support local services at Bronglais Hospital.”

Nicola Llewelyn, head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “We are grateful to CFfI Bro Ddyfi for their support and to everyone who has donated to help us reach our target.

“We are delighted to report that the appeal has now passed its target. However, given the current economic climate, we predict that construction costs will increase.

“Every penny raised, including future donations, will therefore go directly to the appeal fund, with any surplus funds used to support those affected by cancer across Ceredigion and mid Wales.”
