PATIENTS and visitors can now enjoy a more pleasant and tranquil surrounding when they attend appointments or while receiving treatment at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
The area between the entrance to the Alaw Unit and the Renal Unit has now been transformed thanks to a generous donation from the family of Brian Hogan, who sadly passed away four years ago after a battle with cancer.
Staff from the Alaw and Renal Unit joined Peter, Terry and Colin Hogan, from local business Hogan Bros Ltd, to officially open the garden in memory of their brother, Brian. The plaque was unveiled by Brian’s son, Jamie.
Peter said his family wished to thank the staff who cared for Brian by creating a new garden outside the entrance into the units to create a friendlier environment for patients.
He said: “As a family we know the amazing care that is given by the staff at the Alaw Unit and the Renal Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
“We wanted to say thank you to them by providing them with a garden they can enjoy and also the patients and visitors.”
Ysbyty Gwynedd’s consultant renal physician, Mahdi Jibani, said the staff at the Renal Unit are extremely grateful for this kind donation.
He said: “We are very humbled by this kind donation from the family of Brian Hogan.
“Our patients and visitors now have a beautiful and relaxing area to walk through when they visit us at the hospital.”
