Alan Leech, of Llanfair Clydogau, a patient at the MyDentist practice in Market Street, said the situation with the major NHS provider in Lampeter had been deteriorating over several months.
“Check-ups have been rolled back because there are not enough dentists,” he told the Cambrian News. “The situation is of major concern.
“Most of the NHS dentists in Lampeter have resigned and not been replaced. The vacancies have existed for some time and have increased.
“My issue is who is going to try to find a solution to the problem? When fully staffed, the Lampeter practice provided a high-quality service.”
Mr Leech has raised his concerns with Ceredigion MP Mr Lake who relayed his own misgivings to Health Minister Vaughan Gething.
“The worsening dentist provision in Lampeter over the past few months has been a cause of considerable concern, and I have contacted both the chief executive of Hywel Dda Health Board and the Welsh Health Minister to take action,” said Mr Lake.
