OVER 500 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Wales today – but no new deaths have been reported.
Figures released this lunchtime show that 513 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in Wales today, with 23 in Gwynedd.
Carmarthenshire has also recorded 23 new cases with Ceredigion recording two new cases and Pembrokeshire, five.
Powys has recorded 10 cases today.
The rate of infection in Wales, which is taken from a rolling seven-day period, today covering 19-25 June, show that the rate currently stands at 64.8 cases per 100,000 population nationwide.
The rate in Ceredigion however is nearly half that, standing at 35.8 cases per 100,000 population over the same period, recording 26 cases in that time.
Carmarthenshire, which recorded 60 cases over the seven-day period, has a rate of 31.8, with Pembrokeshire recording 67 cases and having a rate of 53.3.
Powys recorded 39 cases over the seven days and has a rate of 29.4 with Gwynedd recording 114 cases and having a rate higher than the national average, standing at 91.5 cases.
Wales has however recorded another day without a Covid-19 related death with the total number of fatalities since the start of the pandemic remaining at 5,575.
