FUNDRAISING events across Pen Llyn have raised money for the Farmers’ Union of Wales.

Members of the Caernarfon branch of the FUW raised the funds by taking part in the union’s annual Farmhouse Breakfast Week.

The events were held at Siop Fferm a Caffi Abersoch, Sarn Bach, Pwllheli, Fferm Bryn Hynog, Llannor, Pwllheli and Caffi Anne’s Cafe, Bryncir Livestock Market. Bryncir raised over £3,000 for the FUW president’s chosen charity, the DPJ Foundation, and the 2023 Llyn and Eifionydd National Eisteddfod Crown Fund.

Despite the Covid restrictions in place, the events still received fantastic support from all the local communities, and money is still coming in.

FUW Caernarfonshire county chairman John Hughes said: “Once again we thank the farmers’ wives who did an excellent job with admirable help from friends and family in all the locations.

“We must thank Sion and Delyth Edwards, Dylan and Jackie Williams and Anne Franz, and their hard-working teams very much for a wonderful effort which has raised so much money for very worthwhile causes.

“I would also like to thank the local businesses for their continuous support and priceless donations and also all those that attended the events without which it would not have been possible to raise so much money.”
