Madam,
No doubt, just like many other folk, I find the excuse for surgery closures difficult to believe.
The claimed inability to attract doctors to the beautiful countryside of Wales from polluted, congested and noisy cities with their high crime rate surely has to be contentious.
This observation is fortified by the bone-headed decision of the Home Office to order the deportation of Dr Shash Awai, a Nepalese doctor who has served the NHS with distinction for 16 years. This is an absurd and appalling treatment of a well-qualified doctor who has proved her worth.
Surely there is something seriously wrong with government and NHS management in the failing to find suitable doctors to live and work in our cherished countryside – many visitors and tourists must be shaking their heads in disbelief!
Yours etc,
Dave Haskell, Cardigan.
