Skinny dippers from across the UK will descend on Barmouth this Summer for the Great British Skinny Dip.
Organisers from British Naturism say they will be holding a skinny dip on Morfa Dyffryn beach near Barmouth on Saturday, 17 August, from 9am until 9pm.
It is one of only two events organised in Wales this summer by the group who want to raise awareness of the health benefits of nudity.
Spokesman Andrew Welch said they were expecting large numbers of people, into the hundreds, to turn up for the sessions.
He said: “People who regularly shed their clothes know that the benefits include improved well-being, reduced stress and an increase in body confidence. It’s also liberating and a lot of fun.
“Millions of people worldwide have discovered this simple antidote to the stresses of modern life and we want to encourage more people to experience it.”
Sunbathers have been taking all their clothes off on the beach for more than 30 years.
Numbers have increased in recent years thanks to publicity on the internet and in naturist magazines.
In 2000, Gwynedd councillors voted to designate a specific site on the beach for nudists in the hope that tensions between the dressed and the undressed would improve.
Signs were erected warning unwary visitors that they are about to enter a site designated for naturists.
