HUNDREDS of people turned out to the annual Parêd Dewi Sant in Pwllheli over the weekend.
The town got into the full swing of the St David’s Day celebrations on Saturday, 27 February, with many decorating their shop windows with Welsh designs and flags were also flying along the main streets.
Pubs and cafés also served up traditional Welsh food made from Welsh ingredients. Musical events were also held around the town to showcase Welsh music.
The highlight of the day was a parade made up of hundreds of people, together with a boat and vintage tractors, marching through the streets with hundreds of people cheering them on.
Event organiser, Rhys Llewelyn said: “Parêd Dewi Sant Pwllheli 2016 was one of the best community events I have ever witnessed.
“Everyone was involved and came together to celebrate a day that honours our national saint and Welsh identity, local and national businesses based in the region, community and voluntary groups, well-known TV celebrities and musicians, local government, school children and lots of other different members of the community.
“It was an incredible celebration of Welsh language and culture that impressed me hugely that I will remember fondly for a very long time.”
