A CHALLENGE-hungry runner will run 133 miles across north Wales in his latest fund-raising spectacular.

Huw Williams, from Pwllheli, is tackling the North Wales Pilgrims’ Way this weekend, running from the Abbey in Holywell to Aberdaron over three arduous days (24-27 May).

The 44-year-old managed to run Marathon Des Sables, a six-day, 156-mile slog in the world’s toughest terrain, the Sahara Desert, last month (see picture right) but is refusing to rest on his laurels.

“I am raising money for local charity GISDA which is a lifeline for local young people,” Huw said.

“Some of the youngsters who use GISDA have absolutely nothing so all donations for this adventure are really important.

“With that said, I will not have a support crew and I’m only packing a sleeping bag and £15 for food, sleeping where I can find shelter at the end of each day.”

Huw added: “Everyone is welcome to join me on a section and hopefully the weather will be kind.

“Let’s go for it!”
