Madam,
Working with the Remain team in Gwynedd and Ceredigion during the run-up period to the European Union referendum in June 2016, we achieved a positive result, even though Wales as a whole voted to leave.
We were due to leave the EU on 29 March this year, with or without a deal, but this has clearly not happened.
With deadlock on both sides, the EU has suggested ‘more time’ until 10 April (the date of the European leaders’ summit), for a leave date of 12 April, and even up to 22 May before the European Parliament elections, which at present are not planned to take place in the UK.
I cannot see another general election, making it three in the past five years, or even another referendum.
Do we leave whatever?
Yours etc, Timothy Grout, Erwporthor, Happy Valley, Tywyn.
