A Porthmadog woman has hit out at public transport provision in the area, saying she is unable to find a bus or taxi to carry her and her electronic wheelchair.
Jackie Roberts, of Bank Place, wants to travel to Llandudno this week but has not been able to find a taxi or bus equipped to take her.
She believes this is discrimination and wants something to be done about the situation.
“I have always been in a wheelchair and have been able to travel by taxi before, but now I am really struggling,” she explained.
“I have been inquiring this week because I need to get a taxi from here to Llandudno. I’ve phoned two or three companies but they’ve all said no.
“I don’t know what the problem is. I’ve also tried to get a bus but I can’t because they don’t all have a ramp.
“It’s ridiculous. It’s 2019 and something needs to be done.”
Jackie wants to travel to Llandudno to collect money for a cancer charity but fears she will not be able to make the journey.
