I would like to ask the readers of the Cambrian News: Is it in the children’s best interests in Welsh only learning up to the age of seven, or is it only in the interests and the aims of the Welsh nationalists who want to implement this policy?
Is the Welsh economy strong enough to provide employment for all these young people when they grow up? Welsh is very useful for Wales, however English is an international language. If a person wants to work in North America, Australasia, Hong Kong or even Germany it is a good command of the English language they will need. Even if one travels to Moscow, all the signs in the railway stations are in English.
Sadly we hear anti-English rhetoric coming from both Welsh and Scottish nationalists.
My children, who are grown up now, are all fluent in Welsh but my point is to give the people the choice, forget the past and work hard for an excellent future for Wales.
