A LLANBADARN Fawr councillor has called for action to stop motorists parking on a housing estate access road claiming it is “an accident just waiting to happen”.

Paul James has written to both Ceredigion Council and Dyfed-Powys Police with his fears that youngsters at the Maes Mawr estate are being put in danger because cars are being parked on an access road to the estate.

Cllr James has called on the council and police to take enforcement action against motorists breaking rules and said residents at the estate were becoming increasingly concerned by the issue.

In his letter to the authorities, Cllr James said: “I write to you to bring to your attention a very worrying problem which is causing both great stress and anxiety to residents with young children on the Maes Mawr estate at Parc-y-Llyn in Llanbadarn Fawr.

“I’m told that there is an accident just waiting to happen. The problem I speak of is concerning vehicles parking at the entrance to the Maes Mawr estate where the parking of vehicles between the junction into the estate and the mini roundabout seems to be an ever increasing problem.

“It is a collision just waiting to happen."

A Ceredigion council spokesperson said: “Cllr James has raised concerns about cars parking on an access road in Llanbadarn and the service is currently investigating the matter.”
