AN INQUEST has been opened after the body of a 52-year-old man from Aberystwyth was found at the foot of the Nant y Moch dam.

The body of Ian Edward Evans was recovered from Nant y Moch reservoir near Ponterwyd on Saturday, 30 July.

Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A police spokeswoman said: “Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the sudden death of a man, whose body was discovered in the water at Nant y Moch Reservoir on 30 July.

“Next of kin and HM Coroner have been informed.”

On Monday, coroner for Ceredigion Peter Brunton opened the inquest into Mr Evans’ death.

Evidence of identification was taken and the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
