TWO ‘inspirational’ young brothers from Abererch have been recognised for their continuous fundraising for charities close to their hearts.

Donna McClelland, mother of 11-year-old Cian Pritchard and six-year-old Danial Pritchard, has been diagnosed with incurable cancer.

Since her diagnosis her sons have been doing everything from busking on their doorstep to selling their toys to raise funds for cancer charities and other good causes.

Their other fundraising efforts have included making and selling loom bands and setting up table-top sales outside their house in aid of breast cancer charities, the Wales Air Ambulance and other good causes.

In the run-up to Christmas all the ASDA stores are celebrating the Hidden Heroes who make a big difference in their local communities – and Jo Scott, who is community champion at the Pwllheli store, said no-one could be more deserving of the award than Cian and Danial.

She said: “They are going through so much and still think of others. They’re truly inspirational and a credit to their lovely mam and dad who are so proud of all that they both achieve.”

Donna, who lives with her partner Arwel and both their sons, said: “They’re absolutely amazing boys – they’ve helped me out so much.

“Both boys are very caring and loving. I couldn’t be more proud of them.

“It’s hard sometimes but they know what’s happening and that I’m not going to be here for long. We try to keep everything as normal as we can and it’s just lucky I have an amazing partner in Arwel because it would be hard to put up with all of this on my own.”
