AN INSPIRATIONAL runner who suffers with a brain tumour has run nearly 50 miles in a single day to raise money and awareness for a charity close to his heart.
Steffan Owen took on the mammoth task of running from dawn until dusk at Coed y Brenin on 1 April and has raised well over £3,000 for his efforts so far.
Steffan, 37, who now lives in Dolgellau, is raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity, an organisation dedicated to defeating brain cancer and helping those who suffer with the condition.
The runner, who ran for over 12 hours over muddy and unstable terrain, was supported throughout the day by his children, his pregnant fiancée, fellow runners, as well and friends and family.
He was joined by various friends for parts of the course to help keep his morale up, alongside his pet dog Toby.
Steffan, a glutton for punishment, was not one to rest on his laurels though.
“My legs were very sore for a few days but managed a short run last night.
“I had a 10k trail race last Sunday so had to get going again,” said Steffan.
“It was a fantastic day, I was humbled by the support I received from everyone."
