A SUPREME Meirionnydd cyclist has pedalled the length and breadth of the UK in order to benefit life-limited children across north Wales.
Earlier this year, Joe Patton, from Harlech, undertook a mammoth cycle ride along the famous Land’s End to John O’Groats route.
Cycling in a solo and self-funded trip, Joe’s adventure helped to raise money for children as he has written a two-part e-book on Amazon about his saga with all profits to a children’s charity.
Joe said: “A solo bicycle holiday is often a self-indulgent past-time and I wanted this adventure to benefit others.
“This is a two-part chronicle; part one consists of short stories for children that relate to each day of my ride whereas part two is my daily diary of actual events.
“All the proceeds that I receive from the sale of this book will be donated to the Hope House (Ty Gobaith) Children’s Charity.
“I hope you enjoy the ride.”
Part one includes 14 short stories for children that cover each day of his 874-mile ride.
The tales include magical encounters with elves, pixies, talking trees and even Draig Coch.
Katrina Lawson, Ty Gobaith’s fund-raiser, was thrilled.
“Christmas is a special time of year for everyone and all the more important for families with a child not expected to live longer than early adulthood,” she said.
