A BORTH woman has been honoured by The Queen for voluntary and charitable services.

Joy Cook was presented with the British Empire Medal by the Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed, Sara Edwards, at a presentation ceremony in Canolfan Rheidol, Aberystwyth.

Miss Cook said: “I am truly delighted on being awarded the British Empire Medal.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to those persons who nominated me for the award, for which I am extremely grateful.

"I would also like to thank my family and friends who attended the medal presentation ceremony and for their continued support and a thank you also to the Lieutenancy Office in Ceredigion for the arrangements.”
