Madam,

Sorry Elly Foster but yes of course if you feel something is not right, complain (‘No, we are not going to stop complaining about the buses’, letters page, 29 November) but please, no, that does not make you heroes. The heroes are the brave heroes who fight for us in wars, plus police, firefighters, paramedics, carers, etc, but not bus campaigners. And, by the way, my husband (R Vickers) and myself use the bus a lot. The only time our car comes out is when we take our little dog to the vet. Yes, buses are late, sometimes, but the drivers or bus company are not at fault – it’s road works, people getting on and delaying the driver asking questions etc. No, we think Lloyds is a wonderful company with great drivers too.
