Madam,

Thanks to the persistent campaigning work of Dolgellau Hospital League of Friends we now have a minor injuries service extended to 10 pm.

Recently a community member suffered a ‘minor injury’ and at the last minute before 10pm was treated expertly and promptly at the hospital. A minute later and it may well have been a very different story.

A hugely expensive, uncomfortable and triaged ambulance ride to a distant hospital may have been necessary, probably taking until the early hours before returning home, making an unfortunate episode a wretched experience.

Let’s hope that the health authority listens well to the Dolgellau League of Friends, who campaign on our behalf, and that they see the value of providing a full 24-hour minor injuries service.
