WHAT better way to celebrate your 10th anniversary than by returning to the place where you first met?

For many this may mean heading back to a certain restaurant, college or bar, but for one lovestruck duo it involved donning wet-weather gear and heading out to sea.

RNLI volunteers Wil from Barmouth and Sian Stockford from Borth, celebrated their big day at the lifeboat charity’s Training College in Poole, Dorset on 4 March.

To surprise his wife, Wil had secretly arranged for them to join a training exercise on the day of their anniversary so he could take his wife to the spot where they met – afloat on a lifeboat off the south coast of England.

The pair were invited to join a training exercise on a lifeboat in honour of their special day and their commitment to the charity.

Wil, who is on the crew at Aberdyfi RNLI and a mechanic for the station, reminisced: “The RNLI has played a huge part in both mine and Sian’s lives, it led to us getting together.”
