JOAN Yates, the president, welcomed all who had braved a terrible night to be present at the February meeting. The usual procedure was observed before Pam Tanton read January’s minutes, followed by Joan who delivered the county newsletter. Harlech WI have invited the group to their St David’s Day celebration on 9 March.Linda Hurst from Richlin Dairies was introduced. Linda, together with her husband, runs a goat farm on the Llyn peninsula. They have a herd of 80 goats. AI is used to produce the next generation. The females are used for milk which in turn is used to make both hard and soft cheeses. The males are used for meat. The goats have their own individual personalities and are joined occasionally by one of the Bardsey Island goats.Linda was thanked by Lesley Bay for her informative and amusing talk, as were Pat Carter and Margaret Roberts who served the refreshments.The next meeting was scheduled for 8 March, for a St David’s Day celebration.
