MINUTES of the meeting of Mynyddog WI held on the 13 June: In the absence of June Hill, vice-president Gwyneth Davies took the chair and welcomed members. There were apologies from June and Ann Perrotte. Present were Pat Edwards, Sheila Ray, Ceri Williams, Lorraine Kitt, Shirley Evans and Rosie William-Jones.Sheila reported that she had submit-ted an entry for the Lady Denman Cup Competition 2016.Sheila also read an account of the Spring Outing to the Great British Ironworks near Oswestry and the Dana Prison on 9 June. It had been a very enjoyable, successful and educational outing and Shirley was warmly thanked for making the excellent arrangements.A letter had been received from Val Potter, chairman of the Dyfi Group asking that at least two members of Mynyddog attend a meeting of the Dyfi Group on Monday, 20 June at the Llanbrynmair Community Centre at 7.30pm. Several people expressed an interest in going. The next monthly meeting will be held on 11 July when the speaker will be Idris Evans. Details of the meeting are on the Membership Card.It is proposed that on Thursday, 7 July we repeat the very successful evening trip to Pwllheli on the train leaving Machynlleth about 4.30pm.Several members expressed an inter-est in going. Shirley will organise the supper but everyone is asked to take their own drinks. Shirley prepared and served the sup-per (Welsh cakes, chocolate éclairs and crisps) provided by her and Pat and the rest of the members played four rounds of whist. Lorraine and Gwyneth were partnered by Ceri, Pat and Rosie was partnered by Sheila, who was also the tutor. It is thought that each partnership won two games but there was much more chat and laughter than would normally take place at a formal Whist Drive and everyone enjoyed it, which was the main thing on this occasion. Rosie won the raffle.
