ON MONDAY evening, 18 April, the branch held an open meeting to which they invited other local WIs and Llanfarian Merched y Wawr.They all had a very enjoyable evening watching James Ward and three of his second-year pupils – Owen, Ffion and Jamie – from Coleg Ceredigion demonstrate how to cook a seafood paella in a huge pan called a pop-up kitchen.They were very professional under James’ watchful eye and very entertaining at the same time.Everyone agreed the paella tasted delicious and there was plenty to go around for the 40 or so people present.Plenty of cakes were also supplied by WI members as well as a number of raffle prizes.The next meeting will be on 16 May when Betty Brookes and Vicky Edwards will be talking about their visit to Denman College.The meeting will start at 7pm and be held in the village hall.
