Town twinning

FOR those interested in town twinning activities with Derval in France, there is a chance to find out more at the next meeting of Llanidloes Twinning Association, which will be followed by a social event with refreshments.

The AGM of Llanidloes Twinning Association will be held on Wednesday, 25 November, at 7.30pm at Chatwood, Longbridge Street.

Afterwards there will be a chance to meet other members of the group with wine and light refreshments.

This year the group has celebrated 20 years of links between the two towns, with events in Derval and Llanidloes in the summer.

There are regular visits between the two towns – 28 Llanidloes people went to Derval and stayed with French families last year and more than 50 people from Derval are expected to come over from 23-28 July 2016.

Plans are being made for activities while the French visitors are here and the list of families who will host French visitors is growing. Anyone who would like to join in by having a family, couple or individual to stay with them can find out more by contacting John Shercliff by email [email protected] or phone 01686 430780 or go along to the meeting.
