Rotary Club
LLANIDLOES Rotary Club welcomed two new members to the fold at their last meeting. Michael Evitts of Y Fan and Tony Thorn of Caersws were welcomed officially into the club by president Peter McCready. Both individuals have already supported the Rotary Club by marshalling at the Wales Rally GB and taking bucket collections at the town’s annual bonfire night. No sooner had the new members been welcomed in than they were back out on the street selling raffle tickets at the town’s Christmas lights switch-on.
The heavy rain and winds subsided long enough for the community to gather around the Christmas tree for fun and festivities. The Rotary Club, which had sourced the Christmas tree, also organised two Christmas hampers and a box of chocolates for their annu al raffle, managing to raise over £300 for local good causes. The club thanked the local com-munity for braving the weather and their generosity towards the raffle.
