OLIVET to Calvary by J H Maunder is presented at St Idloes Church, on 25 March at 7pm. Performed by Côr Llanwnog, conducted by Graham Marshman, with Glyn Jones (tenor), Michael Brennan (bass baritone) and Tudur Jones (organ). Donations to St. Idloes would be much appreciated.
Garden Club
LLANIDLOES Gardening Club will hold its third Spring show on Easter Saturday at the Elephant Inn (side passage), Long Bridge Street, from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The children’s decorated egg competition will be judged between 10am and 11am and prize-giving will be at 12pm.

EASTER concert performed by the Wesley Singers and their guest folk musicians at Longbridge Methodist Church, Tuesday, 22 March 7pm.

Arwystli Society
THE Arwystli Society holds an AGM on 20 April, followed by ‘A History of Arwystli: Problems and Prospects’, a lecture by Dr. David Stephenson, at St Idloes Church Hall, 7.30pm. They hold a presentation of old Llanidloes photographs by local historian Jeremy Pryce on Wednesday, 23 March at St Idloes Church Hall at 7.30pm.
Mexican Night
THERE will be a Mexican Theme Night on 16 April, 7pm, at the Old Mill, in aid of the Friends of Llanidloes Primary School, price includes welcoming drink, Mexican buffet and dessert. To book contact Emily - 07805 511619 or Joanna - 07480 849458.
Rotary Club
MEMBERS will be out and about on Easter Saturday, looking for enthu-siastic walkers to take part in this year’s Rotary Across Wales Walk.The annual walk was adopted by the Rotary Clubs of Newtown, Llanidloes and Machynlleth back in 2006 to ensure its survival and goes from Glandyfi across to the Shropshire border. Individual walkers are free to choose who they wish to raise funds for through sponsorship, however the three Rotary Clubs have decided that they will be donating to The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales. Everyone crossing the finish line will be presented with a free T-shirt.Llanidloes Rotarians will be at Saturday’s market.

THE Van Institute Whist drives take place on Tuesday, 22 March, (Poul-try), Tuesday, 5 April, Tuesday, 19 April, (Charity), Tuesday, 26 April, (Charity), 8pm start.
