ALMOST £4,500 has been presented to the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team following a fundraiser by a group of Llyn motorbike enthusiasts.

Over 120 motor bikers hit the road in April this year to take part in the Llyn Bikers’ seventh annual fundraising ride.

Over the last six years the biking group has ran a fundraising day and raised almost £38,000 for local good causes which have all been decided on by the members.

In 2010 the group supported Breast Cancer Care and with 63 bikers they managed to raise £1907.00.

In 2011 the bikers supported Gwynedd Home Hospice Care with 107 motorbikes turning out and raised £3058.

In 2012 the team decided to raise funds for Llywelyn Williams, from Bwlchtocyn, who was knocked down by a car near Abersoch and unfortunately lost his leg.

This fundraiser received huge support and 126 motorbikes took part which raised £7,200 towards Llywelyn’s support and rehabilitation.

In 2013 the group raised £4,850 and in 2014 93 bikers raised £5505.93 for The British Heart Foundation Cymru.

Last year they raised a whopping £10,500 for the Special Care Baby Unit at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

The fundraising group has now presented a cheque of £4432.01 to the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team.
