Madam,
I have thrown many a brickbat at TrawsCymru about their bus services in the past - however I have the utmost praise for the T1C service to Cardiff.
Yesterday was the first time I have used this service for an appointment in Cardiff.
The coach which arrived on time, was clean, very comfortable, had the advantage of an onboard loo (not needing to use this I can’t say what it was like) and the driver was most polite and considerate, asking people if they needed help with bags, etc. It made a wonderful change to previously, when a normal service bus was not fit for the long journey to Cardiff and back. I also have to praise whoever organised the route because, although it misses Lampeter, it also avoids the twisting, winding roads, a disadvantage to anyone who feels nauseous over long distances.
So thank you, Traws-Cymru and long may this service continue and become more popular with the local population and students alike.
On another note, how unfortunate that R Vickers is complaining about Mr McTighe’s letters to the Cambrian News about the bus services.
We live in a free society with free speech so surely he is as entitled to his opinion as you are with yours and offered useful information. His letters and mine are showing that TrawsCymru’s timetables need a little ‘tweaking’ - that’s all. Nothing to get overexcited about and if only the management of TrawsCymru would read their local papers occasionally, they would know what potential travellers need of their local services.
And surely the point of public transport is to get people OUT of their cars and onto buses and trains but I’m sorry to say that the T1 and T5 services north/south still don’t connect at Aberaeron!
Yours etc,
Sue Slocombe, Cledan Cottage, Llanon
