A FOOTBALL-MAD Cardigan cafe worker is celebrating after landing a £10,000 National Lottery win – just 24 hours before her wedding.
Ardent Swansea City fan Debbie Gregory aims to follow her beloved Swans to more away games next season after scooping the unexpected windfall on a scratchcard just 24 hours before tying the knot with postman Phillip James.
The nervous bride-to-be had taken the day off from her job at Finch Square Café on Friday to prepare for her big day at Carmarthen.
Debbie, who lives in North Road, had popped into Spar for a newspaper and decided to buy a £2 pinball multiplier scratchcard “on the spur of the moment”.
On returning home and checking the card, she found the bottom row contained three identical symbols – meaning she had landed the five-figure sum.
“It was lucky I had a day off otherwise I wouldn’t have gone to the shop,” she said.
