MACHYNLLETH made it a double success for the Montgomeryshire CBA county league when, following the men’s county league first division championship-winning campaign, the club’s mixed team won their last match of the season at home to Carno to secure the Montgomeryshire Mixed League by half a point from runners-up Berriew.
Losing only one game apiece, Machynlleth and Berriew had challenged neck and neck for the title, but six and a half points from their game with Carno took the Llynlloedd men and women to 32 points to just pip Berriew’s 31 and a half points.
Montgomeryshire CBA lost their recent Welsh County Champion-ship semi-final to eventual winners Monmouthshire by 139 shots to 90.
