A man forced off work after injuring his knee when he fell into an open culvert has said a small child could have been seriously injured if they had fallen down it.
Stuart Myring, a painter and decorator, has questioned if authorities are putting walkers at risk after he fell foul of the uncovered culvert just inches from the side of the road.
Mr Myring was walking along a section of the Cambrian Coast Path at Pennal when he suffered an injury that he says left him temporarily unable to work.
He said that if someone else had fallen into the culvert, the outcome could have been much worse.
“I went for a walk on Tuesday evening up the road near where we live in Pennal,” he said.
“I went to pick something out of a hedge and was only about an inch off the tarmac of the road and fell down a large culvert.
“I injured my knee.”
