THREE Ceredigion midwives are hoping to raise £3,500 each to enable them to do a charity trek in the Himalayas.
Maureen Jones, Julia Taylor and Claire Tregear, who all work at Bronglais Hospital, have signed up with Marie Curie Cancer Care after Maureen decided she wanted an “adventure”.
The mountaineering midwives are now training and holding fundraising events as they look to take on what Claire described as a “once in a lifetime” challenge.
Maureen said she had been watching the Olympics and Paralympics and decided she wanted to take on a challenge, which led to here looking at treks organised by Marie Curie Cancer Care as part of the charity’s fundraising efforts.

Staff at stretched Bronglais A&E praised as concerns over corridor care persistThe trek, which would take place over 10 days, with five days of walking, is scheduled to take place in October next year, but they have to raise £3,500 each to be able to take part.
Fundraising events will include a carol singing event in Aberystwyth on 18 December, with a large joint fundraising night scheduled for February at the Marine Hotel.
