DWYFOR Meirionnydd’s MP has given news about enhanced mobile coverage a warm reception.
Liz Saville Roberts has welcomed further upgrades to the local mobile network, as two more sites go live, providing mobile users with new 4G coverage.
EE has switched on sites along the B4412 near Morfa Nefyn and the B4401 near Llandderfel and Rhosygwaliau, areas which in the past have suffered disproportionately from a lack of coverage.
Mrs Saville Roberts said: “Mobile connectivity has long been an issue for many residents, businesses and visitors in Dwyfor Meirionnydd, particularly in more outlying parts of the constituency.
“I’m encouraged that these two new sites, which are now live and operational, will benefit both those living along the B4401 near Llandderfel and customers in Morfa Nefyn on the Llyn Peninsula.
“I have consistently argued the case for improved mobile service in rural areas and hold regular meetings with network providers to push for investment in digital infrastructure.
“I hope this investment in infrastructure will benefit my constituents and help our rural businesses to better compete.”
CEO of BT Consumer, Marc Allera added: “We’re improving our 4G mobile coverage across Wales every day by upgrading existing towers and building new ones that will connect parts of the country for the very first time.
”We’re making huge investment across Wales in our Merthyr contact centre, our retail stores and our coverage.
“Customers will need a device that supports 4G calling to get the best experience of EE’s new mobile coverage.”
