It looks like Barmouth lost a hero last week. I didn’t Meet Mr Harry Allday, and I am saddened by this, I can see that this man was a great character.
And what a career. He saved many lives, and he will be surely missed.
It looks like he will be remembered in Barmouth for many years to come.
And regarding last week’s letter, referring to Fairbourne on a website called iLiveHere calling the village a “grief hole” is most certainly misinformed.
Fairbourne is living with an uncertain future, in terms of its eroding coastline. But it has a resilient and strong community that love their village, and they will fight for its future.
Fairbourne is not the only village on the Welsh coastline that is threatened by rising sea levels. But the villagers of these communities will fight the good fight to survive, whatever is thrown at them.
