A DISTRAUGHT Penparcau mum has made a frantic appeal to find a lost family cat which is her autistic son’s best friend.

Andrea McPhillips has taken to social media after a search around her home and neighbourhood on Third Avenue found no sign of Snowy, a one-year-old male cat, which has not been seen for nearly a week.

Andrea’s nine-year-old son Daniel, who has Asperger’s syndrome, has been left “very upset and confused” by Snowy’s disappearance.

“Snowy is not only part of the family, but a best friend and surrogate sibling to Daniel, who is on the Asperger’s spectrum,” Andrea said.

“Daniel is very upset and confused at Snowy disappearance.

“He has had ups and down coping, but we have gone together looking for him to help him feel better.

“He is helping me put up some posters as he wants to find Snowy so much.

“At least then if we don’t find him I can assure Daniel he has done his best to find his best friend.”

Frantic searches of the area and pleas on social media for help have so far proved fruitless.

“We have looked all around Penparcau, but there is no sign,” Andrea said.

“I am thinking the worst now, but just pray he is safe somewhere.

“I have asked many of my neighbours and we have done a leaflet and poster drop.

“We are confident Snowy is nearby, so please can everyone keep asking friends and family if they have seen him. Please just take five minutes to look out in your gardens or down the street for our Snowy.”

Snowy, a white cat with a distinctive ringed ginger tail and one hazel and one blue eye, was last on the morning of Wednesday, 18 May.
