Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Minfordd.

North Wales Police have arrested a man, following a major incident in the village this afternoon.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “Further to our earlier statement, we can sadly confirm that we are investigating the murder of a man this afternoon in Minffordd, Penrhyndeudraeth.

“Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.

“One man is currently in custody, and there are no ongoing concerns for public safety.

As well as the police, the air ambulance also attended.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called shortly after 1.30pm today, Thursday 25 March 2021, to an incident in the Minffordd area of Penrhyndeudraeth, and sent two rapid response cars and a Wales Air Ambulance to the scene.”
