Snowdonia National Park has been named as one of the best outdoor adventure destinations in the UK.

The National Lottery’s 25 most amazing outdoor adventures, compiled as part of their 25-year anniversary, includes some of the many projects which the National Lottery has funded since it was created in 1994.

Approximately £59 million has been given to the 25 places on the list, including Snowdonia National Park.

Head of cultural heritage at Snowdonia National Park Naomi Jones said: “The Snowdonia National Park Authority are thrilled to be included in the National Lottery’s Top 25 Amazing Outdoor Adventures. We are looking forward to working with our partners to deliver the Carneddau Landscape Partnership scheme which will enable local communities to discover, conserve, record and celebrate the area’s rich cultural and natural heritage.”

In July a scheme fronted by the Snowdonia National Park Authority was awarded over £1.9 million by the National Lottery for a five-year conservation project.
