Camera Club

NEW QUAY Camera Club held an in-house competition on Thursday evening, entitled ‘Anything Mechanical’. An informative critique, and final judging, by distinguished guest judge, Ian Ledgard, from Llandilo, saw worthy winners in both Print and PDI categories.The next meeting, on 21 January, at 7.30pm in the Memorial hall, will be a practical evening, when there will an opportunity to discuss and practice, Still Life, Table-top and Portraiture. New members, of all abilities, are always very welcome.

Frostbite Sailing

THE first Frostbite dinghy races of 2016 were held by New Quay Yacht Club on Sunday, 10 January. Near-perfect sailing conditions of southerly wind, flat sea and steady breeze with a bit of extra pressure as a squall passed over was enjoyed by all the sailors in 6 dinghies. A few glimpses of the sun and blue sky pleased all. Hot soup in the Crows Nest was very welcome when all boats were packed away.Results, race 1: 1 Ben Davies, Laser; 2 Rhys Jones, Laser; 3 Louise Czlotniki, Mirror. Regatta AGM

THE AGM of Cardigan Bay Regatta Committee was held on 1 January at New Quay Yacht Club. The officers were elected: Chairman, Aline Horton; vice chairman, Alan Evans; Commodore, Howard Bowden; vice commodore, Peter Norrington Davies; rear Commodore, George Legg; president, Scott Bowen.The regatta dates for 2016 were confirmed as 9, 10 and 11 August.
