New Quay harbour is preparing to welcome visitors for its annual Halloween fireworks display tomorrow evening, Saturday, 31 October.

The popular community event will return to the seafront, with fireworks scheduled to illuminate the sky above Cardigan Bay at 7pm.

Organised by volunteers from Working For New Quay, the display is free to attend, although donations are encouraged to support the event.

The harbour's waterfront will provide the backdrop for the celebrations, with local businesses preparing to welcome visitors throughout the evening.

Families are being encouraged to arrive early and enjoy entertainment taking place around the town before the fireworks begin.

Children attending in Halloween fancy dress can also collect a goodie bag from the DJ booth between 6pm and 7pm.

Visitors should be aware that the seafront road will be closed between 5pm and 8pm to accommodate the event.

Ceredigion County Council has confirmed that car parks at the top of New Quay will remain open.

The display forms part of a wider programme of Halloween and Bonfire Night events taking place across Ceredigion.

The council is encouraging residents to attend organised fireworks displays, many of which are run by community groups and charities.

Further celebrations are planned across the county next week.

Cilgerran will host a bonfire and fireworks event at its football field on Thursday, 5 November, with fireworks scheduled for 7pm.

A display is also planned at Newcastle Emlyn's castle grounds that evening, with gates opening at 6.30pm.

Lampeter Rugby Club will host its fireworks event on Friday, 6 November, with the display beginning at 7pm.

Aberporth will follow on Saturday, 7 November, with fireworks and a beach bonfire planned around Dyffryn Beach from 5pm.

For those heading to New Quay tomorrow, organisers recommend arriving in good time before the seafront closure.
