Health bosses have confirmed that GPs at New Quay surgery have resigned, with long term provision currently being considered.

Hywel Dda University Health Board says that GP services will come to an end on 31 March next year following the resignation of the practice's doctors, Dr Rob Morgan and Dr Eurig Harries.

The health board is now considering the options for healthcare provision from April onwards.

In a statement, the health board said: "Patients registered with New Quay Surgery will continue to receive GP services as normal until 31 March 2027 while Hywel Dda University Health Board considers the options for the longer-term provision of general medical services for the population.

"This follows the resignation of the practice's General Medical Services contract by the GP Partners."

Andrew Carruthers, Director of Operations for Hywel Dda University Health Board, added: "We would like to thank the community for its continued support of the team at New Quay Surgery over the coming months.

"I'd also like to extend my thanks to Dr Rob Morgan and Dr Eurig Harries for their dedication and commitment to delivering general medical services to their population for a considerable number of years.

“We will continue to work closely with the practice and will be in touch with patients as we work through our process to ensure their thoughts and views are captured on how we can best deliver services to them.”

The Health Board will write to all registered patients with further information in due course. New Quay Surgery is open as normal, and patients are asked to remain registered with the practice at this time.
