A NEW sign language club has been set up to serve people living on the Llyn Peninsula.

Members from the Gwynedd and Anglesey Sign Club met with locals in Trefor to discuss ways they can set up a new sign club in the area.

David Duller, who set up a sign club in Llandudno, said: “At Coleg Llandrillo we offer British Sign Language courses from an Introduction to BSL to BSL Level 4, plus a Foundation and BA Honours degree in British Sign Language and Deaf Studies.

"Our local sign club, has run successfully for the past 15 years, and has been awarded a NIACE ‘Inspire!’ Award, and an Adult Learning and Democracy award.

"The committee for the sign club mainly comprises of current and former students. They organise activities which support learners and prepare them for assessments. Members of the deaf community are present to help them develop their BSL skills”.
