Madam,

Our Member of Parliament, Welsh Assembly members, county councillors and local councillors must be aware of headlines in the Cambrian News. Here are some of them:1. 21 January, page 17 - ‘Reviewing services among cost-cutting options’.2. 28 January, page 10 - ‘20-bed care unit to close, after recruitment issues’.3. 4 February, page 3 - ‘Daughter under pressure to move sick mum’.4. 4 February, page 6 - ‘Health board must intervene over nursing bed crisis’.5. 4 February, page 17 - ‘Residents must be given right to stay at care home’.Who was responsible for moving over 20 residents from Bodlondeb residential home, in the public sector, to Hafan y Waun, in the private sector?Would we be voicing concerns about the future of those in need at Hafan y Waun if they were still at Golygfa and Ystwyth wings at Bodlondeb, Pen-parcau, where bedrooms have only been used sporadically during this time? There will be a Welsh Assembly election this year. Make sure that you vote for the candidate who will ensure that social services are provided for all of us who could be in need, in the public sector, now and in the future.

It is the responsibility of the Welsh Assembly to provide and they must make it a statutory requirement.I agree with Elin Jones AM that there is a need for a detailed plan for the future of care in north Ce-redigion involving a range of agencies. In all my years working at Bodlondeb all the residents were and are still having outstanding, respectful care. There was no need to change anything 10 years ago, there were no concerns or crises.

Yours etc
