Madam,
There was a tragic accident on Llanbedr Hill recently, when an old lady may have survived but only because her leg was amputated at the scene
This should surely spur the Highways Authority into action about this immensely dangerous stretch of road.
The issue has been raised many, many times in the past. Especially in your columns.
The common view is that a £14 million bypass which will suffocate the village is not needed. What is needed:
1. Traffic lights at the bridge so that vehicles pass through in convoys, also helping access to Shell Island and the Rhinogs.
2. A yellow line painted on the west side of the road marking a 2ft wide pathway for pedestrians, where car parking is prohibited.
Now is the time surely for simple and swift action.
Yours etc, Graham Tottle
