A NURSERY in Aberystwyth has reopened two weeks after it was closed for an investigation into a incident which saw a three-year-old boy left in a minibus on the hottest day of the year.
Camau Bach nursery on Boulevard St Brieuc, run by the charity Mudiad Meithrin, closed its doors in the wake of the incident on Tuesday, 19 July.
The nursery reopened last Thursday after an investigation into the incident was completed.
A female staff member was suspended immediately after the incident and the outcome of the investigation has not been released by authorities.
The child was left on a minibus outside the nursery in sweltering 31-degree heat for over two hours.
Ceredigion council, whose officers ran the investigation, told the Cambrian News that its investigation was complete.
A council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that enquiries under the All-Wales Child Protection Procedures have been completed.
“The provider is working closely with the Regulatory Body in order to ensure that appropriate arrangements are in place at the facility.”
Iola Jones of Mudiad Meithrin said: “Ensuring the safety and welfare of every child attending the nursery is of paramount importance to us."
The member of staff remains suspended, and it is understood the rest of the staff have undergone additional safety training while the nursery was closed.
